To Be a Dog
Solo Exhibition at Cube 6 Gallery, 2026
Curator: Alina Rom Cohen
“To Be a Dog” is a new body of work that explores the sensory world of the dog—not through a human perspective or external representation, but as an attempt to approach the way a dog experiences reality. Babich moves away from familiar images of the dog as man’s companion or a functional figure, offering instead an artistic investigation of an alternative sensory system that cannot be fully measured or translated.
Alongside drawings, the exhibition presents a series of oil-painted wooden cut-outs that merge painting and sculpture, dismantling the language of theatrical illusion in favor of a direct, exposed, and questioning gaze. Through the interplay of material, image, and sensory perception, Babich invites viewers to step, if only for a moment, into the inner world of the dog, while reconsidering the boundaries of art and the ways in which we perceive reality.
