Tender Beast is an artist book by Oleg Babich, based on an original handmade graphic series and presented as a message from an imaginary prehistoric artist to modern-day Homo sapiens.

It is an epic story describing the rise and fall of a fictitious human-like species — both so different from and so similar to us — in an attempt to rediscover the innocence once inherent in human nature. Playfully and humorously, the story juggles the fundamental concepts of life and death, evolution, survival, connection to nature, higher powers, and the meaning of existence.

The Tender Beast universe has also expanded into sculptural installations, charcoal murals, and oil-painted wooden cutouts, including solo exhibitions and permanent display in cultural institutions. Tender Beast is continuously presented at international art book fairs.
